We urge you to join our network of citizens, businesses, organizations, and political leaders who have the common goal of supporting and preserving the communities of the coalfield regions of the Appalachian Mountains in the states of Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, and Tennessee which have been socioeconomically challenged by the decline of the coal mining industry.

The Appalachian Mountain region is a beautiful part of the United States with a wealth of resources beyond coal which have yet to be utilized for sustainable economic growth.
The Appalachian Mountains are some of the most majestic in the United States. Many Americans are unaware of their beauty, and it is our responsibility to preserve them.
Strip mining has destroyed many mountain tops in the Appalachian Mountain region. Along with careless littering and a lack of comprehensive recycling programs, the region is becoming polluted creating health hazards and harming our environment.
The Appalachian Mountain communities have much to offer in the form of tourism. The culture of the region in the form of the arts is like none other in the country, and there are countless outdoor activities that cannot be equaled in other parts of the country.
The Appalachian Mountains are some of the most majestic in the United States. Many Americans are unaware of their beauty, and it is our responsibility to preserve them.
